This is going on at my next door neighbor's house. Not exactly sure what the deal is. Pretty interesting though.

So I've seen this sort of thing at San Onofre and even Bolsa Chica, but never in my few years of surfing have I seen a floor mat with guido sandals on it behind a new red Chevy Impala at River Jetties. I might just quit surfing.


Maybe I should have stole his slippers just so that he would think twice about leaving them behind his car.

Magical Island

Got a chance to go to a mythical island most don't know even exists. It's about 45 miles from LA. If you've ever had a window seat taking off from LAX you might have caught a glimpse of it. Good friends, decent fishing, and incredible weather.

Glad I drive a Prius.

Dane and Bindy

I just wanted to give a shout out to two amazingly talented friends of mine; Dane Peterson and Belinda Peterson-Baggs. In 2005, Dane made history by being the first surfer to ever appear on the cover of The Surfer's Journal in a vertical photo. A few year later Dane got another cover shot on the same magazine, only this time he was behind the lens. This new cover shot is on newsstands now and is a photo Dane shot of his wife Belinda. Belinda's cover shot also made history. In 18 years, this is the first time The Journal has ever had a female on the cover. Great work guys.

Santa Barbara's on fire!

I came up to Santa Barbara for a few days. The waves have been fun, but this fire isn't that fun. I hope they get it under control soon.

Harbour Board Swap

It was a huge success. Tons of rad boards, great people, and free hamburgers and hotdogs. It's really neat that shops do these types of things for their community. Everyone had a blast.
